Well, I have been putting off my first blog post much to the chagrin of Elizabeth as I have been waiting on something worth announcing. Well, I have finally figured out that I must simply dive in, even if I do not have anything which I would consider as exciting. So, my plan is to replay the weekend, since it has been after all a good two and half days.
Friday afternoon was filled as usual with manual labor. Our yard has generally been over grown, to the point that we have approached the task of conquering it in stages. Friday was the side yard. After several hours of pulling, cutting, hauling etc., part of the side yard is in much better shape than before. Check that off the list...at least until it all starts growing again.
Saturday afternoon consisted of our good frind Susie Cartin's wedding. It was a wonderful wedding followed by a beautiful reception. Directly after the wedding, we ran home to change to make it to the USC-UK baseball game. It was good weather and a good game. Much to the work of my smooth brother in law, we quickly made friends with everyone around us. The two five year boys the the row below us definatley kept us entertained. USC put up another "W" in the 10th inning. Tight game, but good outcome.
Sunday, thankfully, was just the way I like it. Corporate worship in the morning, followed by a nice lunch and then a nap. USC put away the third game of the series. Since Elizabeth was sick, I ventured out to handle the shopping. Armed with a very detailed list, I made the grocery store trip and I believe I did so successfully. No mess ups on my part. The rest of the afternoon was spent reading, relaxing and grilling dinner.
I would count that as a successful weekend. Now for the week ahead...
